Girl opens pet hotel in garden

A 13-year-old girl has opened a pet guesthouse for small animals in her own back garden. Lupe van der Stigchel, from Cornwall, runs Mini Pet B&B. The hotel is open to rabbits, guinea pigs and gerbils in need of a place to stay.

She persuaded her dad Hans, to build the accommodation after she couldn't get a job at her local kennels.

Each cage has its own name and there are plans to expand the business to make room for an extra 12 guests. The company's slogan is: "Mini Pet is a small kennel, for small animals, with a small owner."

Lupe's mother said the teenager lavished attention on the animals. "They are so well looked after I doubt they want to go home," she said.

Lupe's company is doing well, but she still has spaces for pets wanting to stay over the coming half term!
