Pregnancy in guinea pigs normally lasts from fifty nine to seventy two days with an average of sixty three days. The litter size for guinea pigs is an average of four. Under suitable conditions a sow can have two or three litters a year. The mother suckles her young for two to three weeks.

Guinea Pigs can sometimes breed at the age, so if you don't have any plan to breed your cavies, it's better if you separate males from females when they don't need their mum anymore so there will be no unplanned litters.
